What is hard sf?

Hard sf is science fiction that relies heavily on accurate science and technology, as opposed to soft sf which is closer to fantasy that happens to be set in the future. Darwin's Radio and The Martian Race are examples of this genre.

What is cyberpunk?

Cyberpunk is a style of science fiction that generally involves computers and often virtual reality, frequently in a near-future setting. Urban decay and over-industrialisation are common themes. William Gibson's Neuromancer is generally considered to be the book that spawned this genre. Other notable cyberpunk writers include Tad Williams and Bruce Sterling.

What is steampunk?

Taking its cue from cyberpunk, steampunk is science fiction that involves the past. This can come in the form of alternate history, as well as historical fiction which involves technologies that had not yet been invented. Some time travel fiction comes under this category.

No. I'm currently closed for new book review requests. Please check back in 6 months.

Do you copy your reviews to Amazon?

I don't, due to Amazon's terms regarding reviews posted on their website.

This is something I get asked a lot by authors and publishers, because Amazon's recommendation features favour books that have a lot of user reviews, the more the better. However all is not lost: Warpcore SF has its own recommendation features, which appear on the comment pages for reviews.
