Arthur C. Clarke

Arthur C. Clarke (1917- 2008) was a science fiction writer. Although British, he lived in Sri Lanka for most of his later years. His novels focus on hard science fiction, with an emphasis on high technology and idealistic societies.

"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." is one of his more famous quotes.
